October brought a run of large funding deals for lending companies. UK business lender Lovey announced a £250 million senior secured facility from Pollen Street Capital on 28 October: £50 million committed and a £200 million accordion to fund its own-book lending. Earlier in the month Settle secured a $240 million credit facility to scale lending, and ID Finance arranged €545 million in debt and equity for the credit platform Plazo.
Why it matters
Credit facilities are how most non-bank lenders grow: the money they lend comes from investors who buy into the loan book. When several such deals close in one month, it means investors are again willing to finance consumer and small-business credit at scale.
What funders check before they sign
- Loan-level data: every loan, payment and status, available on demand, not as a monthly spreadsheet.
- Portfolio quality over time: vintages, arrears buckets, defaults and recoveries.
- Eligibility rules that are enforced automatically, so only qualifying loans enter the funded pool.
- Clear audit trails for decisions, changes and collections.
Growth alone does not raise a facility; clean, timely data does. lendhero keeps every loan, schedule and payment in one ledger, with ready portfolio reports and exports to BI tools and data rooms, so finance teams can answer an investor’s question the same day.
